CBB Digest 31 March-13 April

Apr. 14th, 2013 | 12:04 pm
posted by: chaletnews in the_cbb_digest

Welcome to this latest digest, covering the last 2 weeks’ activity on the CBB

In Memoriam
We were sad to hear that Elbee had lost her fight with cancer. The sympathies of the whole board go to her husband John and their two sons. Elbee was a regular and thoughtful contributor to the CBB, and we shall miss her.
There is a tribute thread, Elbee in the Rose Garden if anyone wants to read more about her, or to add their own contribution.

* Gathers
Not much activity on the gather front; perhaps people are waiting for better weather! You can [and indeed may!] keep an eye on what’s going on by checking the K&K forum.
Only members of the Kaffee und Kuchen usergroup can access gathering threads. Please PM Abbeybufo or Katherine if you are over 18 and would like to be added to the group.

* Discussion Points
In Special Sixth, there is a new topic Medical conditions and several older ones are still provoking discussion.
Lemon Biscuits& Liberty Bodices has three new discussion threads; Ridiculous Excursions and Activites, Main characters' hobbies and Why not men?

* Drabble News
New to the Sally Denny Library this week are:
    ● A Day at the Seaside, by Vick
    ● Spring Cleaning, by Beecharmer
Check to see which drabbles have recently been updated or added there by following the link to the SDL.
You do not have to be a drabble author to register on the SDL, and there is a ‘review’ facility to enable readers to comment. Please do go and familiarise yourselves with the SDL and enjoy your drabble reading there. It is possible to set reminders of new posts, or new drabbles by your selected authors, so you can be kept abreast of what is happening in your favourite stories. There is a FAQ thread has been set up in Ask the Librarian to tell you all you should need to know, and a Drabble Subject Discussions thread in Stacie Benson's Reading Notes for anyone to contribute comments on current drabbles.

* Spot Supper
No one has introduced herself in Spot Supper in the last two weeks. If you are new to the CBB, or haven’t yet introduced yourself, don’t be shy – there is a warm welcome awaiting you if you post something about yourself, and asuggested ‘template’ to follow if you aren’t sure what to say.
If we’ve missed anything, or you would like anything specific included in the next issue, please get in touch!
JB Kathy_S & Abbeybufo.

posted by: chaletnews in the_cbb_digest

Welcome to this round-up of all things CBB over the past week.

* Gathering news:

The Tentenary Gather is successfully over, and reports and thanks are being posted in the CBB Tentenary: Contact details thread, while recipes have been added to the Recipes Thread. The Winchester Group and the Oxford folk are still hoping to meet soon. No doubt more things will be arranged as the weather improves, so keep an eye on what’s going on by checking the K&K forum.

Only members of the Kaffee und Kuchen usergroup can access gathering threads. Please PM Abbeybufo or Katherine if you are over 18 and would like to be added to the group.

* Discussions:

There were no new discussions in Special Sixth this week, but several older threads have been revived, or continue to be active.

In Lemon Biscuits & Liberty Bodices there are new threads on The CS chapel and Mr Eastley, Being rather pedantic… - and again, many older threads here, and in South Sheilds to Switzerland and Thrilling Terms at La Rochelle, are still provoking comment, and we welcome all contributions, whether you are a newcomer or an ‘old hand’.

There is also plenty of activity in The Rose Garden and a new party –Procrastinating Gaily and Ignoring Matron in English Tea ...

* New Drabbles:

The Bloody Corpse, by Beecharmer and Vick

Just a Minute, by Ruth

A New Dream, Volume 8: Green Herbs and Ample Bread, by MaryR

You can always check to see which drabbles have recently been updated or added there by following the link to the SDL.

* Spot Supper:

No newcomers have introduced themselves in Spot Supper this week. If you have yet to reveal your existence to the board, there is a profile template to help you get over any initial shyness, and you can be assured of a warm welcome there.

If you’d like anything included next week, or if we missed anything in this week’s edition, just send one of us a PM. There will not be a digest next week, but the week after there will be one that covers the intervening two weeks.
